He's not very far from becoming Schepps the White.
Bob Rock is the greatest producer that’s ever lived No one else comes close when it comes to rock music

I think beat detective is one of those things that are complicated for no reason.
Boy, this is an interesting throwback video. Back in 2011 it actually made sense to DIY 1176 clones. It really doesn't today. Pimarily because 1176 plugins have gotten good enough to do the job equally as well the hardware without much - if any - audible difference. Secondly; you can now easily purchase fully assembled hardware clones from lots of different companies that are electronically identical to the DIY kits - yet cost about the same. Unfortunately there really isn't as much incentive to going DIY on them anymore.
Hi guys. Nice video. Love it. I'm new using Luna. Recently I imported a session of 40 tracks in wave format. But my session in WAV format is jumping within bars when played in LUNA. What do you think it may be? Thank you
Really great but i find taking out the mis range range to be off putting on his voice - his finest takes have more grit
It's hammering that mix in a really bad way... do you not hear what?
Insane !!!!!
Ive never heard of Andrew Scheps before, 30 seconds in and im in awe!
yeah the link is broken!
Tambourine better louder lol
Hello, it's a wonderful song produced by another great maestro. I would really like to be able to listen to Mike's mix... Is it somewhere? I await your comments! Thank you so much!!!!
Paterno is SO right!! The phase damage that M/S stuff makes the music unlistenable if used beyond 3 or 4 percent.
Great stuff Thx
Interesting look at an original CV, and I like the idea of getting the fifth harmonic on the added percusion, but I'm curious why the pedalboard is missing here. I see the pedal switch assembly in there, but the pedals really are one of the key things that set an organ, whether real pipes or Hammond, apart from all other instruments. Hopefully you still do have the pedalboard for this instrument. I notice in some of the comments words to the effect that "it's not a B3" to which I would say, "so what?" It's a traditional tone wheel Hammond, and that is the important fact. Whether or not the console has solid sides or four legs is not important. It's a Hammond, and that's what makes it special, not the woodwork of the console. I always preferred the looks of a C console over a B console, but when I'm on the bench at a gig, B or C is irrelevant in my opinion. Looks like I see the older style 25 section vibrato line box in there since the music rack is off, and there's a subtle but noticeable difference in the resulting vibrato that you get from these older line boxes, which I think sound better and more "Leslie-like" than the vibrato that you get from the newer all-metal vibrato line boxes that mount on the back of the upper manual. Referring of course to the V3 setting.
Can anyone explain what correction software is and where one can get it? Thanks
Straight and to the point. Fab 🙏
i just got the demo of AA2 and then found this vid..wow it does throw my gain stages off..as you mentioned..looks like Im starrting from scratch!
seems to lose highs when on but more focused for sure..in this case (so far..) for this kinda groove I kinda like it off..but that depends on what else is in the session too I guess TX
PURDIE SHUFFLE!
Rick and Dave.... THANK YOU For reminding of this band..... It's been years since I watched the Enter Sand Man" Vid".... Before this, I was just stuck in my 90's alt/grunge... YOU ALL HAVE given me the music ive been waiting for!!!! VIVA LA WARNING!!!!!!!
Just couple a guys horsing around, that know a ton about atmos
Cool tip but that mix at the end is horridly compressed crushed and distorted.
Ale is just way too Ale for those mofos. Thunder fingers.
they are so used to seeing otherwordly mics that they didnt show us the classic beauties we all wanna see haha. incredible studio. seem like great guys too
White men, especially in western cultures arent confronted with social justice. I came here to hear audio engineering, and i just heard about it for thirty minutes. Huge fan, rip albini
I feel Andrew on that no half assing it...if I'm in I'm on anything, I'm ALL in...This is such an awesome series, Thank You Mr. Scheps & Puremix!!! =)
How do I do this? Can you go in depth on what setting I should use for that?
A wonderfully presented explanation, very good and super useful
When you have multiple sources - predelay can give the illusion of sound sources being closer or further away. It’s not that apparent when you do it with just one sound source.
This definitely not a how to...
Ironically the mix isn't great
Awesome interview! Always love listening to Andrew... And it was great to hear from Men Scott who just happened to work on some of the biggest and most influencal records of my adolescence! Super fun, thanks!
8:45 level up David mic… sound is off
This is not to brag but only as an indication: Everything I do I only ever mixed on 7506s. My records (under various aliases and different genres) get airplay on radios like BBC's 1xtra and by serious club DJs. They work. I don't use big speakers.
Too many cooks spoil the broth . That's my humble opinion. I would be frustrated with the amount of people in Studio 2 . I bet it wasnt as crowded as this when The Beatles were recording the Please Please Me album . Just my opinion
I went to the LA Recording workshop in 1988. Learned a lot.
You are the best, thank you very much man
In my experience...Good planars... Harmon curve EQ, Can Opener for stereo imaging.... Better than most monitors in most unless you have a good amount of money to spend.. (in my experience). Whatever works for you.... Whatever lets you get good translation... Is right! But yes you have to also make sure it works well on headphones! Very very important! And check them on workers too.... The car test is really, really important too...
I don’t know. I just checked the smell a big crack of shit here.
oof I'd love to hear the Butch mixes of Nevermind!

😆😆 Beaaahahahaaa! My gawd these are funny! 😂🤣
Tim Palmer begins talking about something important at about the 1:15:00 mark on beyond about how a certain amount of gate keeping in the music industry CHANGED HOW WE WERE INTRODUCED to a song. We were given more opportunities to hear it even if upon first listen we didn’t “think” we liked it. Andrew chimes in with the same thought. I noticed long long ago that songs I instantly liked right away on first listen were NOT necessarily the ones I liked so much after hearing the whole batch a dozen times. Songs I DIDN’T like so much at first often ended up being my absolute favorite! It seems to have something to do with COMPLEXITY. If it was SIMPLE enough to LOVE the first time, then it probably was not deep enough to still love once you got to really know it. And… those songs that were deep and rich and complex enough to LOVE the 10th through 10,000th time were probably too much so to be easily taken in on the first or second listens. So you(incorrectly) THINK you don’t care for them. SO WHAT’S MY POINT? My point is that when you encounter an Album of Songs that are clearly complex in arrangement, and clearly have a lot of changes and complexity - but upon first listen you don’t think you care for it very much… - PERK UP! Because what is described and talked about above means that by the 10th or 15th time through….. this may just be something you realize you adore, and can’t wait to hear again, and possibly even come to CHERISH as something you feel you cannot live without!! I would Say that 90 percent Of my Favorite music Came to me This way. Don’t let the new delivery methods rob you of this chance!
This is video is so helpful but also so dense. I think it would be much better if it's split in at least 3 parts. Also, it needs an update, but it's still useful nowadays
Bonus tip: To add the cherry on the cake, try adding small reverb with short decay on top of the high vocal. You'll see what it does, thank me later
never stage a virtual organ. Too many weak links in audio chain including a laptop or HX-type box that can reboot on glitch.
